Stage 1



Buy or find:



- a 720KB floppy drive 

- a flacable, 34 wires, and two floppy drive connectors wuitable for 3 1/2 floppy drives.

- power connector to place on the back of the computer, any type will do.

- 4-wire cable for power, preferably orange, blue and red

- optional power connector to connect with the external drive, or solder directly to connector

Stage 2



- Drill a hole in the back of the computer suitable for the power connector

- SOlder 4 wires parallel to the power supply connector from te motherboard 

  to the internal drive. The sequence is: 

  - Orange +12V

  - blue ground

  - red +5V

  Advisable is to use the same colors for the new attached wires



- produce a flatcable from cable and connectors and a pressing device like a bench-vise.

- solder the power supply cable for external use: mark the connections and colors.

  looking from behind from left to right:

  +12V, ground, ground, +5V.



Stage 3



- check every connection! Especially the power connector.

- attach the floppy drive with the cable to the external connector on the back of the MSX computer 

- power up the MSX computer and check ik drive B: is available.
